Southern Arizona Coats for Kids Inc. Solves an Important Need for School Children

“During the holiday season many years ago, we were looking for a way to support our community,” Theresa Astrain founder explained.  “When we heard local school administrators talk about low-income students needing coats, we created a coat donation drive. What we thought would be a one-time donation, turned out to be an annual event that has grown over the years. Each year the schools call us to see if we are still going to donate.”

Theresa Astrain and her husband Marco formed Coats for Kids Inc LLC then led a community coat drive to help disadvantaged school children in the area, Kindergarten to Grade 12.

We are grateful for generous support we receive each year. The local schools help to organize the jackets by size and gender. Coats for Kids Inc. delivers coat donations to school before Christmas Break, then needy children receive them. We have also provided pajamas and blankets, anything to bring warmth.
